Nomenclature in ElectroAcupuncture and others
Submitted by LeonardoGuttler on Thu, 2009-07-02 18:43.Hello Friends,
I have some doubts in Nomeclature in E.A.
First:
- the active pole (the site that you feel the sensation) is the negative (-) called catode, normally the black one.
- the passive pole (that there is no sensation) is the positive (+) called anode, normally the red one.

About Ganglion (Cyst Ganglion)
Submitted by LeonardoGuttler on Thu, 2009-07-02 18:12.Hello Friends,
When a subject has ganglion (on the dorsum of the hand), there is prescribed in some literature that you can treat inserting needles directly in the wall of the cyst, after you lift and trust several times. Leave the needle 10-15´ and at the end apply moxa. Of course with a sterile technique. Does anyone did this type of treatment? If yes, and precaution or recomendations ?
Thanks
Leonardo

Submitted by amerbagira on Thu, 2009-05-07 12:49.Hi,
I was wondering where can I read about principles of applying acupunture (acupressure) in men and women according to their physiology, for example "in men this point would be needled first on the left, while in women start on the right", and also explanation.
Thank you!

Funny bone pain
Submitted by gators01 on Fri, 2008-11-21 10:58.I hit my elbow as many people have before but this time the pain that ran down my arm into my fingers has yet to go away after two weeks. I am certain that nothing is broken, torn, etc. However the pain is still very intense.
Any accupressure (or other methods or ideas) to make the pain go away and make my hand and arm useable again??? Thanks in advance.
entry exit points for colon to stomach channels
Submitted by Tao29 on Sat, 2008-10-11 05:42.Colon 20 crosses to the opposite side of the body at the nose. Does anyone know if it it crosses back to its original side before entering Stomach 1 or if it stays crossed over and continues to Stomach 1 on the opposite side? This is important when chasing entry exit blocks.
Headache worsened after treatment
Submitted by ang67 on Tue, 2008-08-05 15:32.I had a new patient with a chief complaint of a dull headache around the eyes and in the back of the head at the base of the skull. The headache was consistent throughout the day and at times progressed to a more stabbing headache for no particular reason. The patient could not recall any stress or particular event that may have brought on the headache, but did note that she has an issue with teeth clenching. The teeth clenching has been going on for years, however, and this headache only started 2 months ago.
Cheng cycle question
Submitted by Aerek on Fri, 2008-08-01 14:07.Greetings, I have a question about the cheng cycle. From what I've found the cycle is being implemented in 2 different ways. For example, on the wikipedia and some other websites the cheng cycle has the same relationships as the sheng cycle (wood overacts fire, etc.), but on many other websites, such as this one, the cheng cycle is shown to have the same relationships as the Ke cycle (wood overacts earth, etc.)
Does this discrepancy come from two different theories?
TCM and Children
Submitted by RevitalP on Thu, 2008-07-31 23:11.Hello,
I am looking into treating behavior problems in children and adolescents. I am a teacher and an acupuncture student on the verge of graduating. I see a lot of problems in my classroom which I feel can be very successfully targeted with TCM.
I would like to know if anyone has experience addressing behavioral problems such as ADD, ADHD, difficulty focusing, etc, or can recommend articles or books I can look into.
