Xiao Qing Long Wan - Cough and Asthma Herbal Formula
Uses: Cough and Asthma. Xiao Qing Long Wan (Xiao Qing Long Pian), literally "Minor Blue Dragon Pills" in Chinese, relieves superficies with diaphoresis to resolve water retention and arrests cough and asthma. The Chinese medicine may be used for both exterior invasion of wind-cold and interior accumulation of water retention marked by aversion to cold, fever, anhidrosis, cough, dyspnea, profuse thin sputum, moist and slippery lingual fur, no thirst, and superficial and tense pulse, or cough and asthma due to phlegm, or general pain and edema in the face and limbs.*
Ingredients: Ramulus Cinnamomi (Gui Zhi), Radix Paeoniae Alba (Bai Shao), Rhizoma Zingeberis (Gan Jiang), Radix Glycyrrhizae (Gan Cao), Rhizoma Pinelliae Preparata (Zhi Ban Xia), Fructus Schisandrae (Wu Wei Zi).
Recommended Dosage: Take 5 to 7 pills or 3 to 4 tablets 3 times per day. At full dose, one bottle renders an 8 to 10 day supply. Expect results within 3 to 5 weeks of daily use.
Caution: If there are signs of deficiency (weak low back, edema, etc.) the formula Su Zi Jiang Qi Wan may be a better choice for cough and asthma. Avoid oily, cold, and spicy food. Avoid smoking and alcohol. Avoid taking together with tonic Chinese herbs. Not suitable for cough and asthma due to internal heat or deficiency. Concern should be relieved within several days if the Chinse herb fits the concern. Use with caution during pregnancy and lactation. Not for long term use.(200 tablets)
