United States Acupuncture Schools Directory - TCM Oriental Medicine Colleges

The study of Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine in the United States requires 3-4 years of post-graduate study. Most states require practitioners to have obtained a Masters of Acupuncture degree or a Masters of Oriental Medicine degree (Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine), be nationally certified (NCCAOM) and obtain licensure in each state they wish to practice.

Acupuncture training involves studying the history of Chinese medicine, the main theories behind it's use, learning the locations and functions of the acupuncture points and finally the clinical applications of acupuncture.
