In TCM terms the various forms of arthritis are known as "bi-syndromes". Treatment techniques and protocols are available within the arthritis treatment section.
From my perspective all of the forms of arthritis are related to a variety of auto-immune functions. Within the Tam Healing system that I use we often work on the huatuo areas of T1, T2 and T3 to regulate the immune system in conjunction with other TCM related points as indicated through proper TCM diagnosis. T1 is for the bone marrow and it's role in the immune system, T2 for the thymus gland, and T3 for the lung system in TCM and the lymph nodes. Using acupuncture, bodywork, etc. on those areas will generally strengthen the overall treatment of rheumatoid arthritis.
