CV 22 Acupuncture Point - Tian Tu - Conception Vessel Meridian
- Chinese Name Tian Tu
- English Name Celestial Chimney
- Location: At the notch in the superior aspect of the suprasternal fossa.
- Precautions: NDN, Needle should be inserted perpendicularly .2 - .3 cun and retained or then angled and inserted an additional .3 - .7 cun (up to 1 cun total) so that it follows the posterior aspect of the manubrium.
- Point Associations:
- Window of the Sky Point.
- Intersection Point of the CV & Yinwei Meridians.
- Actions & Effects:
- All throat/vocal cord disorders.
- Window of the Sky Point - useful for aphasia.
- Upper chest Qi/Stagnation issues - asthma, wheezing, pain in the upper chest, tightness, oppression.
